Before you get started, gather your supplies. You'll need Kwik Stix, Magic Stix, and Wonder Stix in various shades of green, pink, and black. Don't forget your imagination and a healthy dose of creativity!

 Watermelon Collage

Materials Needed: construction paper, white paper, scissors, glue, and Kwik Stix

  1. Paint a sheet of paper with different shades of green Kwik Stix
  2. Paint a sheet of paper with different shades of pink and red Kwik Stix
  3. Cut paper into small squares
  4. Glue square pieces of paper onto a piece of construction paper
  5. Use the colors to create a watermelon collage
  6. Once the watermelon is complete, use black Kwik Stix to paint the seeds in the center of the watermelon

Watermelon Paintings

Materials Needed: construction paper, Kwik Stix, scissors, and glue

  1. Paint a watermelon onto a piece of paper using Kwik Stix
  2. Cut out the watermelon and place to the side

Paper Plate Watermelon

Materials Needed: white paper plate, green tissue paper, glue, Kwik Stix, and stickers

  1. Cut the paper plate in half
  2. Rip small pieces off of green tissue paper
  3. Glue the pieces of tissue paper onto the outer arch of the paper plate
  4. Paint the rest of the paper plate with a red Kwik Stix
  5. Add black seeds and any stickers to enhance your watermelon craft!

Sweet Summertime Picnic

Materials Needed: paper plates, plastic fork, napkin, Kwik Stix, scissors, and paper
  1. Cut a paper plate in half
  2. Paint the half paper plate to look like a watermelon
  3. Add lots of pink, red, and green Kwik Stix
  4. Paint a piece of paper with a pattern to resemble a picnic table or table cloth
  5. Place your plain paper plate on your placemat along with your napkin and plastic fork
  6. Place your watermelon onto your paper plate and enjoy!

  2. Paint the outside green and the inside pink or red
  3. Color black dots for the seeds using Kwik Stix
  4. Cut the paper plate into slices
  5. Use a round tray for the sprinkles and rice
  6. Decorate the outside of the tray with green Play Dough

Cardboard Watermelon

Materials Needed: cardboard, Kwik Stix, pencil, beans or seeds, optional green string

  1. Trace/Draw a Circle onto cardboard
  2. Cut circle in half
  3. On larger half add slits on top & bottom to add string after painted/color 
  4. Make smaller half red, larger green using Kwik Stix
  5. Optional fine motor fun- add green string
  6. Glue the red half onto green
  7. Add seeds - you can use dried black beans as ours (real seeds, beads, pom poms, or drawing works too)
