Red, White & Blue 4th of July Crafts for Kids
Red, White & Blue 4th of July Crafts for Kids
Red, white, and blue crafts are waiting. Whether your crew is staying home, hosting a cookout, or squeezing in a project before the fireworks start, TPG Creations has everything you need for a patriotic art session kids of every age will enjoy.
Easy Patriotic Crafts for the 4th of July
This year July 4th lands on a Saturday, so there's a full weekend to get creative. These three 4th of July arts and crafts need no water, no brushes, and no smocks.
Firework Art
Fireworks belong on paper too. Kids can create explosive burst designs across dark construction paper using bold streaks of red, white, and blue.
Colorful Fireworks on Black Paper

Dark paper makes every color pop. Kids draw radiating burst lines from central points using Wonder Stix, letting the black background do the heavy lifting. The result looks dramatic with very little effort, and the twist-up format makes detailed curved lines easy to control.
Thanks to @thehricfamily for sharing this stunning creation!
Drawing Fireworks with Markers

Curved strokes radiate from bright yellow centers, with small dotted accents adding movement around each burst. Magic Stix deliver clean line control and bold color from the first stroke. A simple technique that works well for all ages, from preschoolers tracing shapes to older kids adding fine detail.
Shoutout to pediatric OT @momtoolbox for this fun reel!
Star-Spangled Popsicle Wands
Craft sticks become party décor, photo props, or take-home keepsakes with this one. Color jumbo popsicle sticks in red, white, and blue, then glue them into star shapes.
Patriotic Star Wands

Cardboard stars painted in red, white, and blue get mounted on dowel handles and finished with ribbon streamers and pom-pom trim. Kwik Stix dry in 90 seconds, so kids can move straight from painting to decorating without waiting. Great for parades, parties, or just waving around the backyard.
Big thanks to @playingcreatingeducating for bringing this parade-ready idea to life!
Patterned Star Wands

Paper stars decorated with dots, stripes, plaid patterns, and color-blocked sections, each one attached to a craft stick handle. Wonder Stix make it easy to draw clean, controlled patterns without sharpening. No two stars come out the same, which makes this a good group craft where every kid's version looks distinct.

Window Art
Any window or mirror becomes a patriotic canvas. Kids can draw stars, stripes, flags, or "Happy 4th!" messages before heading out to the fireworks.
American Flag Window Display

A freehand American flag drawn directly on glass using Wonder Stix. Red stripes run across the pane with a blue corner filled in on the left. Wonder Stix wipe clean from glass with a damp cloth, so the display comes down as easily as it went up, with no residue and no scrubbing.
Thanks to @momtoolbox for showing us how easy window art can be!

Giant American Flag Color Sort

A large painted flag becomes a hands-on sorting activity. Kids place red, white, and blue pom-poms and beads into matching sections of the flag. Kwik Stix cover the large surface fast, and the quick-dry formula means the sorting game is ready in the same session the painting happens.
Shoutout to @chasing50toes for turning this flag craft into a full learning activity!
American Flag Canvas

Masking tape creates clean stripe guides across a canvas. Kwik Stix fill in the red and blue sections with solid, streak-free coverage, and star stickers stand in for the stars field before being peeled away. No brushes, no water, and crisp edges that look more intentional than they were.
Thanks to @keepme_busy for this clean, crisp flag project!
Happy 4th of July Handprint Flag

A painted flag background in red and white stripes with a blue handprint cutout at the center. Kwik Stix build full-coverage color on textured surfaces, and the fast-dry formula supports layering without smearing. A keepsake-style project that works well for toddlers through early elementary.
Head on to @kwikstixpaint for this sweet keepsake idea!
Patriotic Sun Catchers
Paper plates painted in red, white, and blue, then finished with glitter and metallic star confetti and hung from strings. The layered palette and mixed-media approach make these simple to set up and satisfying to finish. A low-prep craft that pairs naturally with any TPG paint or marker in the patriotic color range.
Thanks to @ourblessedhomeschool for sharing this festive finishing touch!
